Grand jury expected to reconvene in Trump investigations in Manhattan

A grand jury in Manhattan, New York, is expected to reconvene today to continue investigating former President Donald Trump’s alleged involvement in hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels during his presidential campaign, which may have violated campaign spending laws.

The grand jury may also call another witness after hearing from Trump ally Bob Costello on Monday.

The former president’s defense attorney, Evan Corcoran, will also appear before a grand jury tomorrow regarding the classified documents case at Mar-A-Lago, in which Trump is accused of misleading his attorneys.

The judges have rejected Trump’s attempt to block Corcoran from testifying.

Meanwhile, Trump has been lashing out at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is expected to be his rival in the 2024 presidential race.

Trump criticized DeSantis’s record on COVID and education, calling him an “average Governor.” DeSantis, in an interview with Piers Morgan, appeared to question Trump’s leadership style and emphasized the importance of focusing on the big picture and putting points on the board.

The developments in these two separate investigations are being closely watched, as they could potentially lead to charges against the former president.

The grand jury is expected to determine whether to indict Trump, and if so, what charges to file.
