GOP lawmakers are ramping up their investigation into the business ties between Hunter Biden and China, as Chinese President Xi Jinping visits Moscow for a summit.
The House Oversight Committee is focused on a $3 million wire transfer that originated from a defunct Chinese company called State Energy HK Limited, which eventually made its way to three members of the Biden family.
According to bank records reviewed by Congressman James Comer, the money flow leads to more questions about Hunter Biden’s business dealings while his father was Vice President.
President Biden denies any involvement in his son’s business deals, while Hunter Biden’s legal team says the repayments were “good faith seed funds” and that he had a right to pursue his own business endeavors as a private citizen.
The White House has urged House Republicans to focus on other issues, such as lowering costs and strengthening healthcare.
