As we approach the transition from winter to spring, it’s a great time to declutter and organize your closet.

Professional organizer Michele Vig from Neat Little Nest joined KARE 11 News to offer some tips on how to do just that.

The first step is to declutter by deciding which items you want to keep and which ones you want to discard.

Consider getting rid of items that don’t fit, have had too much wear, or no longer bring you joy.

After decluttering, it’s time to organize the remaining items.

Michele suggests taking care of seasonally irrelevant items such as turtlenecks and wool sweaters before storing them away.

This can involve using a deep pillar to remove any pilling and hand washing the items to ward off pests.

Michele also suggests using fabric bins to store winter items, as they allow for air flow and keep clothes fresh until the next season.

Finally, Michele advises taking baby steps to get started, tackling one small category at a time.

With these tips, you can make a seamless seasonal closet switch.
