Four people have been arrested in Central Florida following two separate car chases involving stolen vehicles.

The first chase involved a couple who are accused of stealing a white pickup truck, leading deputies on a chase before coming to a stop in the woods.

One of the two dogs inside the truck perished in a car fire, and the suspects are facing multiple charges, including animal cruelty.

During their arrest, three deputies were stung by hornets, and one was sent to the hospital.

In the second chase, which occurred hours later, two teenagers under the age of 17 were arrested for stealing a car from Volusia County.

Sheriff Rick Staley commended his deputies and canine unit for their efforts in catching the criminals, stating that they have proven themselves to be effective in recent days.
