Former Day Care Worker Pleads Guilty to Sexual Contact with Children

In a major development, a former child care worker has pleaded guilty to sexually molesting children under his care.

Chris Fumi, 27, entered a plea deal after being indicted on nine counts of sexual contact with a child in Lincoln County.

Fumi admitted to six counts of sexual contact with a child, and the remaining three charges were dropped as part of the plea agreement.

The case involves incidents that were caught on camera at a child care center in southern Sioux Falls last September.

The victims were three and four-year-old children.

Fumi also faces nine sexual contact charges in Minnehaha County, where he is accused of touching children at a child care center and homes.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Monday will mark the second part of the plea agreement.

The former day care worker’s guilty plea is a significant development in a case that has garnered widespread attention.
