Federal Way Police Seek Help in Identifying Hit-and-Run Suspects
Federal Way police are seeking the public’s help in identifying two individuals who they say are responsible for a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred last Wednesday.
The suspects were caught on surveillance footage committing another crime just before they sped away and hit Navy veteran Robert Spafford.
Spafford was killed in the incident, which took place outside the William J Wood Veterans House around 6 PM.
Authorities are now searching for a Dodge Ram truck, likely with a model year between 2003 and 2005.
The truck is missing its passenger-side rearview mirror due to the impact with Spafford, and it has a broken middle back window, possibly covered with plastic.
It also has a hard top bed cover and faded paint on the sides of the tailgate.
The Federal Way community is mourning the loss of Spafford, who was well-known and respected among the veterans.
“I just hope that they catch whoever did it and keep us in their prayers because we still think about him every day,” said one veteran.
Anyone with information about the truck or suspects is urged to contact Federal Way police.
