This morning, police are currently in search of a man who fatally shot a supposed friend during a gathering in northwest Houston. Kathy Hernandez, our live reporter at the scene, provides us with the latest information.

According to investigators, both the suspect and victim were friends, making the incident even more shocking for the witnesses present at the home. Surprisingly, there was no prior argument or altercation before the shooting occurred.

In video footage obtained by police, a group of individuals were seen socializing at a residence on Spring Valley Road near Brookshire Street at approximately 12:20 am. Suddenly, one man took out a firearm and shot the other in the chest.

Despite attempts by those present to save him, paramedics declared the victim deceased upon arrival. Currently, the motive behind this tragedy remains uncertain. The suspect and victim were believed to be friends, and there were no visible signs of discord leading up to the shooting. The police possess information regarding the suspect’s identity, his vehicle (an older model blue Toyota Celica with a black hood), and additional details.

Therefore, their primary objective is to apprehend him as soon as possible. It has been confirmed that the shooter was pursued by other individuals at the scene, but ultimately managed to evade capture.
