Welcome to the special edition of 17 news. In tonight’s segment of 17 Crime Watch, we have a tragic incident to report.
One individual has lost their life, while five others have been hospitalized following a pursuit that resulted in a crash on Chester Avenue. The authorities state that they were initially trying to perform a traffic stop for a violation of vehicle codes in the vicinity of Mount Vernon Avenue and Gateway Avenue at approximately 10:45 p.m. Despite their efforts, the vehicle failed to comply and instead decided to flee from the police.
The driver eventually lost control of the vehicle in the 10th block of Chester Avenue, causing it to overturn. The driver, identified as an adult male, sustained severe injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.
The five passengers, aged between 16 and 18 years, suffered moderate injuries and were swiftly taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. If anyone possesses information regarding this unfortunate incident, please reach out to the BPD at 32771 111..
