A woman was killed and two others were injured in a car accident on Friday night in Wrentham, Massachusetts.
The accident occurred near the Wrentham District Courthouse, at the intersection of East and Common Street.
According to police, a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck traveling north on East Street towards Wrentham Center, veered left at the split onto Common Street, and crossed into oncoming traffic on Route 140 Southbound, striking a Honda Elantra head-on.
The female passenger of the pickup truck was treated at the scene for serious injuries and was then transported by fire rescue to King Philip high school, where she was med-flighted to Rhode Island Hospital trauma center but did not survive.
The operator of the Elantra sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the operator of the pickup truck also sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash is still under investigation by both Wrentham police and the Massachusetts State Police accident reconstruction team, and no charges have been filed at this time.
The intersection where the accident occurred is reportedly known to be dangerous, and residents say they try to avoid it as much as possible.
