I am Taylor Hernandez and with me is Vanessa Vinent. We will provide you with the first warning forecast shortly. But first, here is your quick news update. A man from Port Saint Lucie has passed away after crashing into a pole in Volusia County, Florida.
According to the Highway Patrol, the driver was traveling east on I-4 when he suddenly veered off the road and collided with a concrete pole on Saturday morning. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash. In another incident, one of the two Florida deputies who were deliberately struck by a man driving a car last week has been discharged from the hospital and reunited with his family. Hillsborough County Deputy Manuel Santos, along with another deputy, responded to a call last Thursday from a woman who expressed fear towards her son.
The son, Ralph Jose, refused to cooperate with the deputies and fled the scene. He later returned to the home and crashed into the deputies.
Jose has been arrested and charged with three counts of attempted murder. Over in Martin County, people demonstrated their gratitude towards veterans at the annual Veterans Day Parade on Saturday. The parade was led by veterans and veteran service organizations, starting at Amerigo Avenue and concluding at Memorial Park.
Our sports director, Shayne Wright, who himself is an Air Force veteran, was present to show support for our nation’s veterans. Now, onto your seven-day forecast. It is looking favorable for the next few days, with heavy rains expected on Wednesday and Thursday. There is a possibility of flooding, as the heavy rains will return during the middle of the week. Temperatures will be slightly cooler, ranging in the upper 70s to lower 80s, with pleasant morning lows..
