Good morning, we have positive updates on two families this morning with local ties. Firstly, the Shafi family from Plymouth has finally been allowed into Egypt after numerous attempts to escape the war zone. They are now en route to the US Embassy in Cairo to arrange their flight back to the US.
Despite their gratitude for the support they have received back home, they remain concerned for the safety of their relatives still attempting to flee the war zone. The Okal family, on the other hand, has successfully returned home to Medway after being trapped in Gaza during the outbreak of the war.
They managed to secure passage to Egypt and arrived at Logan Airport yesterday afternoon. The family is now back in the comfort and support of their loved ones in Medway..
