Multiple schools across Iowa were targeted by swatting calls on Tuesday, according to officials.
At least 30 locations were impacted by the fake 9-1-1 calls, which falsely reported school shootings.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and the Department of Public Safety spoke about the incident, stating that there are no active threats to any schools in Iowa at this time.
The hoax is designed to create confusion and chaos and draw a large police presence to a school.
This incident appears to be an orchestrated swatting incident that is making its way across the state.
In October, several school districts in South Dakota also received similar swatting calls.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the matter.
