In 1988, I had to leave my country and was fortunate enough to be helped by a close friend, the former US ambassador who tragically lost his life in Gazda Chris Stens. This led me to come to the United States.
While I am hesitant to engage in identity politics, I feel compelled to use it to counter the rhetoric of a particular individual. Sadly, the fifth district has become known for its association with anti-Semitism, spearheaded by a congresswoman who is unfit for her position. I want to make it clear to America and the rest of the world that Ilhan Omar and her anti-Semitic views do not represent our district, nor the good people of the fifth district or Minnesota.
That’s why I have decided to oppose her and her beliefs. Looking at her actions as a lawmaker, she aligns with countries that are opposed to the United States.
As a future congresswoman, I aim to support our strongest ally, Israel, not just in the Middle East but overall. In conclusion, with limited time remaining, I find it perplexing why she has been able to continue without consequences if she does not truly represent the people in our community.
