A manufacturing plant in Greenville, Michigan, experienced an explosion and subsequent fire that severely injured one employee on Friday morning.

The incident occurred at the Dicastal plant, which produces aluminum alloy wheels for the automotive industry.

Despite structural damage to the building, all other employees were accounted for.

The explosion was captured on surveillance video from 21 miles away.

Firefighters were called to the scene at around 9:45 a.m.

and had difficulty putting out the flames due to the nature of the materials being used.

Dry chemicals and the removal of oxygen were required to extinguish the fires, and pop-up fires continued to occur after the initial explosion.

The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.

This is not the first time the plant has experienced a fire.

There were two fires in 2019 and one in 2020, but no one was injured in those incidents.
