Ex-LAPD Officer Charged with Child Sex Crimes; Authorities Seek Additional Victims

A former Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer is facing charges of sexually assaulting four boys, and authorities are urging potential additional victims to come forward.

The officer, identified as Paul, a recipient of the Medal of Valor, was taken into custody and is scheduled to be arraigned today.

His bail has been set at $2.5 million.

He is charged with eight counts of lewd acts with a child.

According to investigators, the alleged assaults occurred over a span of nearly a decade, between 2007 and 2016.

During this time, Paul resided in the Covina area.

The 46-year-old ex-officer had served with the LAPD for more than 25 years.

Investigators believe there may be unidentified victims in connection with these crimes.

In other news, today marks the beginning of closing arguments in an unrelated case.
