A six-month-old pig named Charlotte has been bringing love and support to nursing homes in Lubbock, Texas.
Her owner, Megan Tisler, noticed how attentive Charlotte was when she experienced panic attacks as a result of anxiety.
Tisler began researching and got a letter from her therapist stating that Charlotte showed empathy and recognized her problems.
Charlotte has been trained to do 31 commands and has buttons she can use to communicate with Tisler.
She has been labeled as clever, well-behaved, and sociable by emotional support animals of America.
Charlotte has been visiting the Garrison nursing home and will begin visiting schools at the end of the year.
Tisler’s goal is to start a non-profit with her husband where veterans can get a support pig free of charge to experience this type of companionship.
