A man who survived an unprovoked stabbing in El Sereno is speaking out about his experience.

Daniel Villalobos, a husband and father of three, was attacked by a stranger who stabbed him six times.

He managed to fight off the attacker, but he faces a long and painful recovery ahead of him.

The suspect, David Anthony Zapata, has been linked to a separate deadly stabbing that occurred just hours earlier.

The other victim, Xavier Daniel Chavarin, a 17-year-old honors high school student, was waiting for his parents to pick him up after school when he was attacked and killed by Zapata.

Authorities believe a second person may have been involved in the attacks, as the suspect had someone driving him away from the scene.

The family of Daniel Villalobos has set up a GoFundMe page to help with his mounting medical bills.

Zapata has been taken into custody after barricading himself inside his Alhambra home.
