One woman has been killed and another injured in a drive-by shooting that occurred during the early morning hours of April 16 in Maryvale, Phoenix.

The incident happened outside a restaurant near 43rd Avenue and Thomas.

Phoenix Police officials are investigating the shooting, and they believe that one vehicle drove up to the retail parking lot and opened fire, hitting the two women before fleeing the scene.

Surveillance footage from multiple businesses in the area, including a gas station, shows a truck leaving the retail parking lot around 1:30 a.m.

on Sunday.

The police are still searching for suspects, and anyone with information is urged to call Silent Witness.

Family members of the 65-year-old victim, Libby Smith, who died as a result of the shooting, have created a GoFundMe page, describing her as an innocent bystander in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Business owners and shoppers in the area have noted that the neighborhood has a bad reputation, especially during the night.

The police are still investigating the case and trying to gather more information to identify the suspect or suspects involved in the shooting.
