Good afternoon, I’m Sharon DQ, and we begin our news at 4 with a major update. Today, the woman accused of fatally hitting two individuals while driving on the I74 Bridge pedestrian path has entered a guilty plea.
Shabria Harris, 47 years old, admitted to one count of aggravated DUI causing death. Authorities stated that Harris was under the influence when she struck three pedestrians on the bridge in May of last year.
Tragically, two of the victims lost their lives, while the third sustained injuries. Following the guilty plea, the judge sentenced Harris to 20 years in prison, requiring her to serve at least 85% of the sentence before.
