Dry Weather and Breezy Conditions Expected After a Break in the Rain
Residents of the Bay Area can finally expect a break from the rainy weather on Thursday.
Cinthia Pimentel’s Microclimate Forecast predicts dry weather, cooler temperatures, and breezy conditions.
The afternoon will see temperatures warming up to the mid-50s, giving locals a chance to get outside and enjoy the sunshine.
However, some spotty rain chances may still be present in Calistoga, so drivers should be cautious on their way home from work.
Gusty northwest winds, with speeds between 20 to 25 miles an hour, may cause down tree limbs, so pedestrians should be careful when walking around their town.
On Friday, the Bay Area can expect another spectacular day with a nice break from the rain.
Temperatures will remain cold, so locals should bundle up if they plan on taking their dogs out for a walk or cleaning up storm damage.
San Mateo will experience temperatures of 57 degrees, Half Moon Bay will have 55 degrees, and Morgan Hill will have 57 degrees.
The breeze may affect these numbers, so Pimentel advises locals to keep an eye out throughout the day.
The drought monitor update for this week has extended the no drought category into the Sierra, while the Bay Area remains in the yellow category.
The Sacramento Valley is in the moderate category.
However, Pimentel predicts that next week’s update should have good news as the storm systems get entered into the database system.
The six to ten-day outlook shows above-average rainfall in California by next week.
Pimentel advises locals to enjoy the sunshine while it lasts and to prepare for the next storm system arriving late Monday into Tuesday morning’s commute.
Saturday and Sunday will be chilly in the North Bay, with a freeze warning in Lake County.
Residents should protect their pets, plants, and pipes during this time.
San Francisco can expect a breezy start to the weekend.
