In the latest update, we have now been informed about the identity of the driver who, according to state troopers, was responsible for a tragic accident near Batesville that claimed the lives of eight individuals. The driver has been identified as 17-year-old Luis Alfredo Menas Escobar.
Troopers state that Escobar was attempting to escape from a Zavala County Sheriff’s deputy when he collided head-on with an SUV. All four individuals who Escobar was trying to smuggle tragically lost their lives at the accident site.
Additionally, a couple from Georgia, who were en route to visit their relatives in Mexico, also suffered the same fate and perished in the incident..
