Tonight, we kick off with the latest updates on the controversy surrounding the Clayton County Commissioner who claims to have been drugged. Thank you for joining us, I’m Russ Courtney Bryant. Christopher? Right, Russ Courtney. The board has appointed Demand Davis as the new Vice Chair, and both the board and voters are focused on moving forward. Commissioner Felicia Franklin walked out of the Clayton County Board meeting and refused to answer our questions after her fellow commissioners removed her from the role of Vice Chair.

Margaret Bryant, a resident, believes the board should have been more forgiving, as everyone makes mistakes and their conduct reflects on the county. Orlando Gooden also expresses disappointment in Franklin, stating that she was not a good representative of the county. Franklin claims someone drugged her at a sports bar in late September, but the police found no evidence to support her assertion. They released a video showing Franklin apparently passed out on the ground outside the bar.

The police report indicates that Franklin had consumed multiple alcoholic drinks and had cannabis in her system. Chairman Jeff Turner defends the decision to remove Franklin as Vice Chair, emphasizing the importance of high standards for commissioners since they represent the citizens of Clayton County and need to present themselves in a way that makes the citizens proud..
