Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash Also Hit by Deputy in East Harris County

A tragic incident unfolded in east Harris County late last night when a man became the victim of a hit-and-run accident, only to be struck again by a Harris County deputy.

The authorities are actively investigating the case and are seeking surveillance footage from nearby businesses to shed light on the initial crash.

The incident occurred shortly before midnight on Wallaceville Road.

The man, whose identity remains unknown, was standing in the middle of the road when a black truck collided with him and fled the scene.

Witnesses immediately sought help and flagged down a deputy who had recently left a Sheriff’s Office substation nearby.

In an unfortunate turn of events, the deputy accidentally hit the pedestrian while responding to the scene.

Tragically, the man succumbed to his injuries at the crash site.

Investigators are now faced with a crucial question: did the initial hit-and-run collision cause the pedestrian’s death, or was it the result of the deputy’s vehicle striking him?

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the hit-and-run driver or the incident to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.

They are particularly interested in obtaining surveillance footage from businesses in the vicinity that may have captured the initial crash.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has been contacted for further details regarding their investigation into this matter.

As the investigation unfolds, the community is hopeful that additional witnesses or evidence will emerge, aiding in the pursuit of justice.

Our thoughts go out to the family and loved ones of the victim during this difficult time.
