Former President Donald Trump has claimed that he may be arrested tomorrow amid an ongoing investigation by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg into whether he falsified business records.
Prosecutors are looking into a $130,000 payment made by Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen to adult film star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about an alleged affair with Trump.
Trump has denied the affair and the payment could be a campaign finance violation.
Trump ally Bob Costello, who previously served as a legal advisor to Cohen, is set to testify before a Manhattan grand jury today.
Trump has called for his supporters to protest and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has urged people not to do so.
The Trump team is proposing Costello as a witness to rebut Cohen’s claims, but it is up to the grand jury whether to hear his testimony.
