The Washington Post has released a disturbing surveillance video depicting the final moments of Irvo Otieno, a Black man who died while in police custody at a Virginia hospital earlier this month.

The video, which prosecutors intended to make public, shows Otieno being dragged into an admissions room in handcuffs and leg irons.

Several deputies and hospital staff then pile on top of him until his body goes limp.

Otieno was in custody after allegedly assaulting three officers and becoming combative while being admitted to the mental health facility.

Seven Henrico County sheriff’s deputies and three hospital staff members have been charged with second-degree murder in Otieno’s death.

Defense attorneys for two of the deputies have maintained their clients’ innocence.

A grand jury is expected to meet today to review the case.

Viewers should be warned that the video is difficult to watch.

NBC News does not know how the video has been edited or what was taken out.
