Over the next two weekends, residents of Western New York can get a firsthand look at how natural maple syrup is made.

This is all thanks to “Maple Weekend,” an annual event that sees more than 50 maple producers across the region opening their facilities to the public.

In addition to demonstrations on how syrup is made, visitors will also be treated to sweet treats to brighten up their weekend.

It’s worth noting that New York is the second largest maple-producing state in the U.S., so there will be plenty of syrup to go around.

For those interested in checking out the participating farms, a list is available on rochesterfirst.com.
