Affordable Dentures & Implants Patient Claims Thousands Owed after Vermont Office Closes
A dental office in South Burlington, Vermont abruptly closed its doors a month ago, leaving patients wondering about their dental treatments and services.
Affordable Dentures & Implants, a national chain, had only one office in the coverage area, and patient Andrew Gray claims the office owes him thousands of dollars he paid months ago for dentures he never received.
Gray says he had 20 teeth pulled out and paid $3,400 for dentures that he’s still waiting for.
Gray says he showed up at the office early one day to find the name had been scraped off the door and a flyer posted that read “closed until further notice.” Despite attempts to contact the office and the owner, Dr.
Stephen Bench, Gray has not received a refund or any response.
Records from the Better Business Bureau show several complaints about the office this year alone.
Gray is now trying to get funds together for dentures from a different practice, but he says he’s heard from other Affordable Dentures patients who have also lost money.
The office is empty, with lights out and locked doors, and the toll-free phone line provided by the company did not offer any help.
The Vermont Attorney General’s office is aware of the complaint, but it’s unclear if a formal investigation is underway.
Gray has not filed a complaint with the AG’s office.
Other patients of Affordable Dentures & Implants are still waiting for answers.
