After more than five decades, a suspect has been identified in the 1970 murder case of 16-year-old Pamela Conyers in Anne Arundel County.

Conyers went missing in October 1970, and her body was found four days later in a wooded median near Millersville.

The suspect, Clyde Williams III, died in 2018 due to natural causes.

The police and FBI used genetic genealogy and DNA evidence to identify Williams.

Police believe there may be more suspects and the case remains open.

Michael Golden, an old classmate of Conyers, attended the announcement of the suspect’s identification and expressed that the case has been a struggle for all of their peers for decades.

The case remains open, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police or the FBI.
