Debt collectors are becoming more lenient on medical bills, according to a report by KPHO.

Unpaid medical bills are the reason why people are forced to file for bankruptcy.

However, debt collectors are becoming more lenient, and as a result, medical collections now make up 57% of all collections on consumer credit reports, down from previous numbers.

An injury or illness that sends a person to the hospital can rack up bills quicker than one might think.

Eventually, these bills are sent to a third-party collection agency for payment, but the agency is now becoming more lenient towards unpaid medical bills.
