Transitional Improvements: Helping Homeless & Formerly Incarcerated Grocery Store Shooting; 1 Injured, 1 in Custody

The suspect involved in a deadly road rage shooting is now in police custody. The St.

Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged 53-year-old Robert Mulkey with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. The shooting occurred on Friday morning at Highway 41 just south of Gravois Blocks. Witnesses called 911 and when the police arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the hospital but did not survive.

According to a probable cause report, the incident started when two men stopped their cars in the middle of traffic and got into an argument. The victim got out of his car and approached Mulkey while flicking a cigarette.

As he was returning to his vehicle, Mulkey shot him in the back, killing him. Unfortunately, road rage is not uncommon, as frustrated individuals in a hurry tend to engage in aggressive behavior.

It is important to not engage, make eye contact, or pull over and stop if you are a victim of road rage. It is worth mentioning that there was another road shooting in Fenton about a month ago..
