Tonight, we have updates on the controversy surrounding the Clayton County Commissioner who claims she was drugged. Thank you for joining us. I’m Russ Courtney Bryant. The board has appointed a new vice chair to fill the vacant spot left by Felicia Franklin. Video evidence showed Franklin passed out outside a sports bar, prompting the board to remove her from the role.

Christopher King is reporting live from Jonesboro, where the board held the vote earlier. Commissioner Felicia Franklin walked out of the Clayton County board meeting without answering our questions. Her fellow commissioners appointed Demand Davis as the new vice chair.

Some residents believe this decision was unfair and that the board should have been more forgiving. They argue that Franklin’s actions reflect poorly on the county.

Others believe Franklin let down the people she was supposed to represent. Franklin claims someone drugged her at the sports bar in late September, but the police found no evidence to support her assertion. The video evidence released shows Franklin seemingly passed out on the ground outside the bar. Toxicology reports reveal that she had consumed several alcoholic drinks and had cannabis in her system. Chairman Jeff Turner defended the decision to remove Franklin as vice chair, stating that commissioners must uphold high standards and present themselves in a manner that the citizens of Clayton County can be proud of..
