Dozens of people gathered at San Miguel Community Park on Thursday night for a prayer vigil in support of the family of Kyle Doan.

The five-year-old was swept away by flood waters more than two months ago, and his family is still hoping for his safe return.

Local community members and leaders of three churches have been working together to help the family cope with this tragedy and maintain hope for Kyle’s return.

Despite continued flooding and dangerous conditions, search efforts have been ongoing with the help of volunteers and search dogs.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office plans to resume wide-scale searches as soon as it is safe to do so.

Sheriff Parkinson assures that they have a plan and the resources needed to continue the search for Kyle.

The vigil served as a reminder that the power of prayer can be a source of strength and hope for the family during this difficult time.
