Pope County Deputy Josh Owen was shot and killed on April 15th after responding to a domestic incident.
The news of his death spread quickly through the tight-knit community of Cyrus, where Trinity Lutheran Church offered a refuge from the cold and sadness.
One congregant, Scott Kowski, who served with Owen in the Minnesota National Guard, remembered him as a stand-up guy who would always be there for his fellow soldiers.
Meanwhile, Too High John Torn sang a song in church in memory of Owen.
Despite the tragedy, the community has come together to offer comfort and support to one another.
