A college student is facing backlash after a video surfaced of him pushing an empty wheelchair down stairs at a bar in Pennsylvania.
The wheelchair belonged to a double amputee who was forced to take the stairs due to the building’s lack of ADA compliance.
The incident was caught on security video and the student, a junior at Mercyhurst University, has since apologized.
It’s worth noting that the student’s father is the acting general manager of the Philadelphia Flyers, and he has also issued a statement condemning his son’s behavior as inexcusable.
The incident has been widely criticized as disrespectful to someone who is clearly not capable of doing the same things as the student.
