The Susquehanna Valley experienced a cold and blustery Sunday with temperatures in the single digits and teens due to strong winds.

However, temperatures are expected to warm up and more sunshine is predicted for Monday.

The Equinox is set to occur just after 5 p.m.

Monday, marking the start of spring.

Rain chances are expected to rise midweek as a powerful storm moves closer to the region.

On Sunday, the winds howled, with gusts reaching up to 35 miles per hour in Harrisburg, while sustained winds hovered in the teens to just over 20 miles per hour in the same area.

Despite the beautiful sunrise, the temperature remained chilly at 26 degrees, with the wind chill making it feel like 12 in the capital city.

The high for Sunday is expected to be near 40 degrees, while the temperature on Monday is expected to be in the low to mid-fifties.
