Transitional Improvements: Helping Homeless & Formerly Incarcerated Grocery Store Shooting; 1 Injured, 1 in Custody

The controversy surrounding the Clayton County Commissioner who claims she was drugged is gaining new developments. Good evening, I’m Russ Courtney Bryant and thank you for joining us.

Video footage showed Franklin appearing to be passed out outside the Sports Bar Box. Our correspondent, Christopher King, is live in Jonesborougt where the board voted earlier.

As Christopher mentioned, the board has appointed Demand Davis as the new vice chair. The board and voters believe it is time to move forward.

However, Franklin walked out of the Clayton County board meeting and refused to answer our questions. She believes that her removal from the role of vice chair was unfair. However, the police found no evidence to support her assertion and released video footage showing Franklin apparently passed out outside the bar. The toxicology report revealed that she had consumed several alcoholic drinks and had cannabis in her system.

This evidence speaks for itself. Chairman Jeff Turner defended the decision to remove Franklin as vice chair, stating that commissioners must hold themselves to high standards in order to represent the citizens of Clayton County. They need to present themselves in a way that the citizens can be proud of..
