Tonight, we’ll be starting with the latest updates on the controversy surrounding the Clayton County Commissioner who claims to have been drugged. Thank you for joining us. I’m Russ Courtney Bryant. The board has made a new appointment for the position of vice chair, which was previously vacant due to the commissioners’ decision to replace Felicia Franklin.

Video evidence showed Franklin apparently passed out outside the Sports Bar Box. Christopher King is live in Jonesborough, where the board voted earlier.

Christopher? That’s right, Russ Courtney. The board has appointed Demand Davis as the new vice chair, and both the board and voters believe it’s time to move forward.

Would you like to respond to being removed, Commissioner Franklin? Commissioner Felicia Franklin quickly left the Clayton County Board meeting without answering our questions. This happened after fellow commissioners appointed Demand Davis as the new vice chair, a move that Franklin believes was unjust and unfair. Resident Margaret Bryant believes the board should have shown more forgiveness towards Franklin, who she says has not done anything that they should be ashamed of as representatives of the people. Orlando Gooden says that Franklin let the people down and was not a good representative for the county. Franklin claims that someone drugged her at a sports bar in late September, but police found no evidence to support her assertion.

They released video footage showing Franklin, who was then the vice chair, apparently passed out on the ground outside the bar. The toxicology report found alcohol and cannabis in her system.

The video speaks for itself. Chairman Jeff Turner defended the decision to remove Franklin as vice chair, stating that commissioners must hold themselves to high standards. They represent the citizens of Clayton County, and it is important to present themselves in a way that the citizens can be proud of..
