China Accuses Canada of Smearing Its Reputation Over Allegedly Operating Overseas ‘Police Stations’
China has accused Canada of attempting to smear its reputation following reports of alleged “police stations” operating in the country.
The accusations have made big headlines in Canada this week, with reports claiming that China is secretly operating at least two different so-called police stations in Quebec.
However, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson from Beijing has denied these allegations, stating that China has been strictly adhering to international law.
The spokesperson did not directly comment on the existence of these police stations, nor whether they were operated on behalf of the Chinese government.
The situation has further strained the already-tense relations between China and Canada.
