In breaking news, we have just received reports that a child has been shot in South West Memphis. I’m Alex Coleman and joining me is April Thompson.
Let’s go live to Bria Jones who is at the scene on Belle Haven Road, off of Highway 61. Bria, can you give us the latest update? Fortunately, the child’s condition has been upgraded to critical.
The police have been here for approximately three hours, focusing their attention on this particular house. We are currently in the 50 block east of Go Haven, in South West Memphis.
According to Memphis Police, a little boy was shot here. Some locals speculate that he may have been shot in the arm.
He was initially taken to the hospital in critical condition, but his condition has since improved. It is still unclear how the child was shot, but the community here is shocked to.
