Chicago Experiences Cloudy Weekend with Below Normal Temperatures
Chicago residents can expect a cloudy weekend with temperatures below the normal range for this time of year.
According to meteorologist Ed, the temperature today is expected to be around 38 degrees Fahrenheit, which is lower than the normal temperature of 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
O’Hare Airport is currently experiencing a temperature of 33 degrees Fahrenheit, while Midway and Joliet have temperatures of 34 and 35 degrees Fahrenheit, respectively.
The city is expected to experience mostly cloudy skies throughout the day, with some sunshine occasionally breaking through.
However, later in the evening, some snow is expected to move in from the west, spreading across the area during the night.
The snowfall is expected to be light and wet, with some areas in the south possibly experiencing rain instead of snow.
The snow is expected to stop early tomorrow morning, followed by a break on Sunday.
Later on Sunday afternoon, some rain is expected to mix with snow, with the precipitation arriving later than expected, giving Chicagoans attending the South Side Irish parade a good chance of avoiding the precipitation.
Snowfall for tonight is expected to be up to two inches, with areas to the north experiencing more snow than areas to the south.
Temperatures for the weekend are expected to remain in the upper 30s, with Monday and Tuesday expected to be even colder, with temperatures around 35 and 34 degrees Fahrenheit, respectively.
However, by Thursday, temperatures are expected to rise to almost 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
Residents are reminded to set their clocks forward tonight as daylight saving time begins.
