On May 4th, which is celebrated as “Star Wars Day” among fans of the popular movie franchise, Carrie Fisher was posthumously awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Fisher was famous for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars series.

The ceremony was attended by her co-star Mark Hamill and her daughter Billie Lourd.

Fisher passed away in 2016 at the age of 60 due to cardiac arrest.

Her star is the 2,754th on the Walk of Fame and is located in close proximity to where Star Wars premiered in 1977.

Fans flocked to Hollywood Boulevard to witness the ceremony, which was held to honor the actress for her contribution to the entertainment industry.
