Summer Program Helps Teens Find Job
As summer approaches, teenagers are on the lookout for the perfect summer job, and CareerSource Tampa Bay has launched its Summer Team Program to assist them in their search.
Tampa Bay Summer Hires aims to help teens find the ideal job for the summer season by working closely with mentors to determine the best fit for their interests and future career goals.
The program begins with teens filling out questionnaires and engaging in discussions about their passions and aspirations.
One of the unique aspects of this program is that it connects teens with employers within their local community, offering both part-time and full-time opportunities.
The goal is to foster personal growth and development among these young individuals.
By matching them with employers in their community, CareerSource Tampa Bay strives to establish a relationship where the teens are considered first for any future roles that may arise.
While not every match may result in a permanent position, many of the program’s participants have found lasting employment opportunities.
Once all the necessary arrangements are in place, the summer jobs typically last for six weeks.
Teenagers as young as 16 years old can apply for the program, which has an age cap of 24 years old.
The selected candidates will work 20 hours per week, receiving a pay rate of $15 per hour.
CareerSource Tampa Bay is still accepting applications for the summer program, providing a valuable opportunity for teenagers to gain work experience, develop their skills, and earn income during the summer break.
