Brooklyn jewelry store robbed twice by same suspect
Melissa Joy Manning, the owner of a jewelry store in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, is pleading for help in catching a robber who has targeted her store twice in the past few months.
The same suspect robbed the store on February 2nd and then again on March 14th, making off with $250,000 worth of jewelry in total.
Surveillance cameras captured the latest robbery, which took place on March 14th around 3:15 pm.
The video shows a man dressed in a green track suit, armed with a knife, threatening an employee and then calmly walking out of the store with stolen jewelry in his pockets.
Manning says that the same person targeted her store the first time, posing as a customer and then robbing the store at knifepoint.
Despite upgrading her security system and changing store policies, the same suspect came back for a second time with an accomplice, making off with an additional $50,000 worth of jewelry.
Manning has hired private security guards and posted the suspect’s picture on social media, and other jewelry store owners in the area have responded saying they recognize him.
For now, Manning is living in fear, constantly worrying that the same person will target her store again.
She is pleading with other business owners to help catch the robber before he strikes again.
