We start at 4 with some breaking news. There is a serious situation involving an RV fire on I-40 right now. Emergency crews are currently on the scene just west of the Cherokee Trading Post, which is a well-known point of reference on I-40.
Take a look at that, McIntyre. The Law Chopper 4 flew over the scene a few moments ago near I-40 and Methodist Road.
We have received information that the RV that caught fire was carrying multiple 100-pound liquid propane tanks. Due to the windy conditions and the smoke, troopers have had to close down the westbound lanes.
It appears that the traffic is backed up for approximately 5 miles..
