After nine years of service, Portsmouth Police Mounted Patrol Officer Moose has retired.
Moose was a beloved member of the department and was involved in many aspects of police work, including patrols, career days, festivals, funerals, parades, and burglary patrols.
However, Moose particularly enjoyed working with children.
Portsmouth Police Officer Nicole Hill, who had been Moose’s partner, adopted him upon his retirement.
Moose will now spend the rest of his days on a farm in Suffolk, where he will be able to run around and play with other horses.
Everyone who worked with Moose will miss him dearly, but they are happy that he will be able to enjoy his retirement in a peaceful and happy environment.
