After being shut down for more than a year, Ballard Commons Park in Seattle is reopening this weekend.
The park had been closed due to safety concerns and the presence of a homeless encampment.
Over the past 15 months, the city has made several upgrades to the park, including better lighting, more trees, and additional benches.
The park is still currently gated up, but a welcome back celebration is scheduled for today and tomorrow from noon to 6 pm.
The event is free and open to everyone, with food trucks, lawn games, and live music available.
The city is also continuing construction on the play area and hopes to have it completed later this year.
