Heavy rainfall caused a mudslide in Baldwin Hills, Southern California, overnight, leaving several homes in danger and trapping cars in sludge.
Crews spent the day cleaning up the debris and residents woke up to find their properties covered in mud.
The main concern is the hillside behind the affected homes, which could give in even more with more rain on the way.
One homeowner described the situation as “living on the edge of danger”.
Another mudslide occurred a few blocks away, trapping motorists in their cars.
Residents are worried as more rain is expected next week.
Mayor Karen Bass has a home in the area, but it was not impacted by the mudslide.
