Augusta Celebrates St.
Patrick’s Day with Annual Parade
Augusta, Georgia – Hundreds of people gathered in Downtown Augusta earlier today to celebrate St.
Patrick’s Day.
The city was adorned in green as residents and visitors alike came together for the annual St.
Patrick’s Day Parade.
For some, this celebration has become a family tradition.
“It’s a family traditional parade.
No St.
Patrick’s Day, we live here.
Yeah, oh, family, the parade,” said one attendee.
For others, this celebration is more than a tradition.
“Yes, today is my birthday, so of course, I wanted to come out and celebrate.
And what better day than St.
Patrick’s Day? So, it’s all the beautiful green, everybody’s celebrating my birthday,” said another attendee.
Augusta’s St.
Patrick’s Day Parade is one of the largest in Georgia, and people from near and far have come to celebrate.
“We’re excited to be here in Augusta because it’s a much smaller atmosphere than in Savannah.
Since I came from Savannah to be here with my aunt, who’s not my cousin, this is an experience,” said a parade-goer.
While this celebration is one of culture and religion for some, others have joined in support of the day.
“It’s a lot of fun.
Augusta used to have a lot of parades on Broad Street, and now I think this is it.
It’s an exciting time.
Augusta likes to celebrate things,” said another attendee.
All in all, it was a fun-filled day for all the lucky people who came and celebrated together in Augusta.
