The woman accused of stealing a machine gun from a shooting range in Converse has been apprehended by authorities.
Bear County Sheriff’s deputies successfully arrested 25-year-old Amber Herring last night.
Herring is now facing charges of theft and possession of a prohibited firearm.
The incident took place on May 5th at Lone Star Handgun, where Herring had reportedly rented the gun for use at the range.
However, surveillance cameras later captured her leaving the premises with the weapon, which she had loaded into a white truck.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Herring had used her deceased sister’s identity to rent the machine gun.
The owner of the store expressed shock and dismay at the discovery.
