Arnolds Park, IA is set to acquire additional parking through a joint project with a local business.
The city is currently experiencing a shortage of parking spaces in the Uptown area, and officials have reached out to the Okoboji Bible Conference to discuss constructing a joint parking lot on land near Ellen Avenue.
The conference has acquired additional property and is designing a new campus, and the city hopes to partner with them to create 125 to 150 new public parking spots.
This would complement the recent decision by the Arnolds Park City Council to make Allen Avenue a one-way street.
The council has authorized the city engineer to create preliminary designs for the proposed parking project.
